About LCP
I'm J. Law, a jeweller based in Hong Kong. I work independently under the name LCP.
Jewellery making has long been part of my family's work. Much of what I know comes from hands-on experience, trying different approaches and figuring things out along the way.
After spending time making jewellery for others, I wanted the freedom to explore ideas of my own.
My ideas come from all sorts of places. It could be something from art or history, a symbol, a technical challenge, or simply something that catches my interest. I don't have a fixed way of starting a design, and I don't feel the need to stick to one particular style.
I'm drawn to sculptural forms, but I don't think every piece needs a story behind it. Sometimes a shape is interesting enough on its own.
I also think about how a piece will be worn, and how its proportions, construction and finish come together.
DE PROFUNDIS is one example. I wanted it to feel like a complete three-dimensional object, something worth looking at from different angles, not just the front.
I develop the designs, build the 3D models and work out how each piece should be constructed.
LCP jewellery is made to order. How a piece is produced, and how long it takes, depends on the design. Some stages may involve specialist workshops.
I keep customers updated as their orders progress and personally inspect each finished piece before it's sent out.
What I enjoy most is seeing an idea become something real. If something here catches your eye, I hope you'll take a closer look.
